Susan
Olsen
Executive
Director |
| Susan
Olsen, MBA, the Executive Director since Oct. 2002, was
originally the Resource Center for Women's IT Program
Coordinator for the WANTO grant, TechForce Connection.
Ms. Olsen is also
the co-founder of Pinellas Cares, a volunteer organization in
Pinellas County. She is a nationally recognized expert in the
area of Sick Child Day Care and is the author of Sick Child
Care: A How-To Guide for Hospitals. She received the 2002 Gail
D. Gonzalez Founder's Award at the National Association's
Annual Conference.
Susan designed and
administered the Florida Corporate Child Care Study. The
results of her research and work have been published in
Investing in Child Care: The Florida Employers' Response and A
Family Day Care Primer: A Procedural Guide and Investing in
Child Care: The Florida Employer's Guide to Child Care
Benefits. |

Kathryn
Schoen
Program
Manager |
| Kathryn
was born in Southern California and attended the University of
California. She graduated with Honors in 1986 with her
Bachelor's degree in Developmental Psychology.
She worked for a
year for the Educational Foundation, an exchange student
organization, and then relocated to Roswell, New Mexico. While
in Roswell, she worked as Assistant Director to the United
Way, and became the Executive Director of the Roswell Refuge
for Battered Adults (The Refuge). The Refuge is a shelter for
victims of domestic violence, as well as a counseling center
for the community at large. During her tenure at the Refuge
she became very active in the community, and at the State
level.
She was
instrumental in developing the city's first Task Force Against
Violence, and became the President of the New Mexico Coalition
Against Domestic Violence.
In 1995 Kathryn
came to St. Petersburg to attend Stetson University College of
Law. In 1998 she graduated Cum Laude. Upon graduation she
worked in private practice, concentrating in Criminal and
Family Law. After practicing law for several years, she
decided to reenter the human services arena.

Barbara
Simmons
Neighborhood
Program Coordinator

| Barbara
Simmons joined the staff of RCW in July 2000. She is the
Neighborhood Program Coordinator at the Enoch Davis Center in
St. Petersburg. In that capacity she has the opportunity to
support women seeking personal development in reaching their
greatest potential. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology and Human Resources from Northeastern State
University, Talequah, Oklahoma. Prior to coming to the
Resource Center, she worked as a Health Coordinator for United
Planning Organization in Washington D.C. Her position
consisted of working two health screening clinics involved in
counseling and health care for enrollee job placement. Barbara
also was Conference Coordinator for the D.C. Chapter of the
Black Policemen's Association. |

Linda
Darin
Education Coordinator |
| Linda
just recently joined RCW, and teaches classes and facilitates
support groups. She is from Detroit, Michigan, and has lived
in Florida since 1982. Linda has a Masters in Sociology and in
Public Health, with a concentration in maternal/child health.
Her work history includes positions in social work and mental
health, including investigation and treatment of child
abuse/neglect, supervisor of in-home counseling program for
families at risk of losing custody of their children,
providing individual, and group counseling at
shelters/transitional housing, establishing and facilitating
support groups for grandparents and other relatives raising
grandchildren/other kin, and advocacy for kinship issues. |

Barbara Letvin
Career Development
Coordinator

Barbara
Letvin is
the Career Development
Coordinator for the Resource
Center for Women in
Largo
. Prior to her role as Career Development Coordinator, Letvin
was affiliated with the
Resource
Center
for Women Foundation, and worked on a grant with the U.S.
Department of Labor Women’s Bureau to assist employers, and
women seeking employment in the
Tampa
Bay
area. She also teaches work-place issues for
Pasco
Hernando
Community College
.
Prior to moving to
Florida
in 1998, Barbara directed a department serving international
students, minority students, orientation, freshman seminar and
the women’s center at Rochester Institute of Technology,
Rochester
,
New York
. She developed the first international student affairs
department, where she helped it grow from 125 students to 850
students from 83 countries, and represented the university in
China
,
Taiwan
and
Hong Kong
. While in
Rochester
, Barbara resettled Vietnamese refugees for United States
Catholic Conference and was president of the board of
directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester. The
Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce recognized her for her
service to the community. Once a teacher in the City School
District of Rochester, Barbara is a former Fulbright grantee
and a returned Peace Corps Volunteer.
A graduate of
Ohio
State
University
and the State University of New York at Brockport, Barbara has
also studied sign language and deaf culture. In
Florida
, she is an adjunct instructor at
Pasco
Hernando
Community College
where she teaches classes in workplace issues. She enjoys
going to baseball games, growing orchids and is a volunteer
gardener at Brooker Creek Preserve. |

Beth Ireland
Program Specialist |

Beth Ireland has been with the Resource Center for Women since
August 2005. She is the first person that people speak with
when they call the Center. Beth is on the “front-line”,
assessing people’s needs and directing them to the best
resources and education through the Center that will help them.
She manages the registration process and educates callers about
our programs and services. Beth offers sincere encouragement
and support to women calling and coming to Center. Beth worked
twelve years in the insurance industry where her
responsibilities included assembling insurance policies,
supporting customers and the Executive staff. After a decision
to change career paths, she began working at RCW. “I find I’m
enjoying working in the Human Services field and hope to take
some continuing education courses the field, ”says Beth of her
work at the Center. |

Deb Hilleary
Fiscal
Manager

Deborah
Brock-Hilleary has been with the
Resource
Center
for Women since 2001. She
started as a volunteer to coordinate the September 2001
business showcase for the Tribute to Women Celebration.
For the past five years, Deborah has acted in a variety
of roles at the Center. She
has worked as Program Specialist, Volunteer Coordinator and
Computer Lab Program Coordinator.
For the 2002-2004 period, she worked on grants from the
Department of Labor to develop and deliver pilot programs for
RCW’s Focus on Success program.
In October 2005, Deborah became the Center’s
full-time Fiscal Manager.
Deborah has over twenty years of business experience working
for local companies including Raymond James Financial and
Jabil Circuit. She
has extensive experience in management, marketing, sales and
technology. She
has a B.S. in Finance from the
University
of
Maryland
and is currently attending USF to get her Accounting degree.
She plans to take the CPA exam in 2008. Deborah moved
to
Pinellas
County
from
Bethesda
,
Maryland
in 1988. |
